Rachel Fryer is a sensitive piano player who is known as much for the depth of her musical understanding as her virtuosity. She is equally at home as a soloist, with an orchestra or as an accompanist and has given recitals throughout the UK, including at Croydon’s Fairfield Hall and as part of Live Music Now! Her recordings have been broadcast on Classic FM and on European radio and television, and she is Visiting Lecturer in Piano Studies for the East Sussex Academy of Music.

In 2020-21 Rachel curated a project called Variations Down the Line, commissioning three new variations from five composers: Samuel Becker, Julian Broughton, Michael Finnissy, Alison Kay and Nicola Lefanu. The variations were based on and interspersed in Bach’s Goldberg Variations and were premiered at JAM Virtual Festival in 2020.
